Hello folks. Hope someone can help put me in the right direction.
We have a 2004 PT GT, about 120,000 miles now. It has the transmission that has the "Auto Shift" feature if it's relevant. One one occasion in the past couple weeks I started the vehicle up,put her in D, drove down the block to a light then after 30 seconds to a minute waiting on the light I go to accelerate and nothing happens. Engine revs as if its in neutral or park but no motion. I cycle through from Park to reverse and back to drive and the same. I shut down and restart then it was OK like nothing happened. Move forward about two weeks to today and it happened to my wife. Same scenario, had to shut off and restart. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

If it's never been done, I'd suggest a fluid and filter change. You MUST use ATF+4 fluid ONLY in these transmissions. Dexron will kill them. You can use the Walmart brand of ATF+4 as it meets or exceeds the Chrysler specs. Get a filter kit from O'Reilly or Autozone, NOT Advance. Or better yet, if you can afford it, get it from a Mopar dealer.
