Default New coil now the PT won't stay running

I just swapped the coil to fix my cyl 4 misfire. I got a coil from the local pick n pull and after i swapped it i went to start her up and it idled high and uneven. Found out i put the rad hose clip in between the intakes rather than above them. Fixed that now it starts and dies unless i give it gas. It sounds great and doesn't havr the miss now but it won't stay running.. any ideas?

Cranks but does not run unless given gas. To trouble shoot this I would understand how a cold start works. The coolant temperature sensor would give a voltage reading to the PCM based on the resistance to temperature, communicating the need to enrich the fuel/air ratio. This may be an issue, but there would be a check engine code if it were unplugged. The idle air control valve would also open more on a cold start to compensate for the idle speed. If that was having an issue could also explain why you need to push the throttle to get it to start. Then you have the ground wire that attaches the engine ground to the battery. If it's not connected or some other issue, this would not be giving the ignition coil enough current and causing a weak spark explaining why it only starts if you increase the engine speed significantly. There could also be corrosion on the inside of the coil female contacts that attach to the spark leads. This could be explained if it had been sitting in the wreckers for awhile without any spark plug leads connected to it. I would, for good measure, take a piece of scotch brite pad attached to a small flat blade screw driver and scrape out the contacts in the female plug ends. Then blow out with air, and use a q-tip to apply electrical contact grease inside.
Any check engine codes ?

Yes it has the p0304 because i didn't clear it yet but none other than that. Through searching the web and forum I was going to try the idle air control valve and then the throttle position sensor... Would you say that's a good game plan?

I would clear the code first and also reset the battery and see if it comes up again after a few start/warm up and drive cycles.

According to the troubleshooting guide for your code, the ignition coil is not the only thing that could have failed. When troubleshooting you have to be 100% sure it's that one item before changing it.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Intermittent misfire
Visual and physical inspection
Ignition wire
ASD relay output circuit (coil)
Engine mechanical problem
Ignition coil
Coil control circuit
Spark plug
Checking fuel pressure
Fuel pump inlet strainer plugged
Restricted fuel supply line
Fuel pump module
Checking fuel leak down
Fuel injector operation
ASD relay output circuit (injector)
Fuel injector
Injector control circuit
PCM (ignition system)
PCM

I am suggesting you might have an vacuum leak. Check the vacuum hoses such as the PCV valve to the manifold, throttle body, etc. Check the intake manifold for vacuum leaks.

Reset the DTC's and check to see if any other codes come up.
