Default Re: stalling low rpm

There are many, many issues that can be related to poor idle. Are you getting any engine trouble codes?

Does it still have the idling problem with the A/C off? If not you might have a problem with your radiator fan or A/C.

If the rpm does not increase approximately 100 rpm when the ac is turned on while idling I would suggest checking the IAC and see if it working properly.

Any obstructions to the intake airflow? Is your air filter clean?

One item that directly affects idle is the throttle body, if it's not clean, you're not going to get a good idle.

The other thing is your Oxygen sensors. If one is not working properly, it will be reporting improperly back to your engine's computer, causing it to mal-adjust your throttle speed. The engine trouble light should be lighted if this is happening.

My suggestions would be to check your air filter and clean your throttle body first. Post back what the results are.

By the way you should introduce yourself to the forum. Tell us a little about your PT Cruiser.
