Angry UPDATE Steam & burnt smell coming out of vents in car

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser with 138K on it. It has been sitting in the garage for a cold winter about 4 or 5 months.

I took it out today and started it and took it for a ride.

Once the car got warm, smoke/steam came out of heater vents and smelled terrible. Inside windows got fogged up. Heat was coming out fine and temperature gauge was normal. I did not notice any leaks anywhere inside or outside. No coolant loss anywhere.

WHAT IS GOING ON? What would have happened sitting in the garage? I thought maybe condensation, but would that give a yucky odor with the steam/smoke coming out of the heater vents? If it were heater core, wouldn't there be antifreeze smell and leaking inside the car?

PLEASE HELP. This can't be. I had used the heat before putting it in the garage various times and nothing was wrong with the car when it was put into the garage.

how? why would it just go out sitting in the garage? doesn't make sense.....no fluid in car and no leaking.

i would think the steam and electrical burning smell are unrelated. i would see how it is after you drive it 2-3x before worrying.

not sure about that.

i smell it and then the smoke comes out as soon as the car gets warm. then the inside windows get smoky.

I came home and put the car away and the next day, the windows inside are fine again.

WHAT IS GOING ON>?????

Don't use a cheap one. The will cause you problems. You want to get Barrs leak head gasket repair. Type leak seal. Around 20+ dollars. Don't youse the cheaper ones.

I got the Barrs radiator/heater core aluminum sealer. I put in 1/2 as the bottle states to use 1/2 for 4 cyl. ran it like it said and i almost thought it was gonna work. for about the first hour, the smoke and smell had gone way, way down. There was only a little condensation on the middle of the windshield, but it was totally driveable. THEN........it started coming out again through the vents and fogged up the inside again just like before.

Letting it cool again, put it back in garage. MAYBE thinking about putting the other 1/2 in tomorrow and try again. I DON;T KNOW!!!!
