Default Pt cruiser gt leaking coolant by firewall

Hey everyone! My 03 pt gt has a coolant leak somewhere by the firewall . It smokes really bad when I stop the car and there is a puddle under it. It doesn't overheat and still drives fine...even on 40 minute drives. I crawled underneath and couldn't see if anything was wrong. Could it be the coolant reservoir or is there a tube or hose I cant see? any info would be helpful

Thanks, Phil

Is the coolant filling up to the top of the coolant reservoir? If not check the coolant reservoir for cracks.

I would suggest physically checking the hose between the radiator cap and the coolant reservoir. Make sure the hose is tight on both ends. You might be getting air into the coolant system.

When I got my 03 Dream it had a water leak that was a pinhole in the overflow tank on the firewall. Though I did epoxy the leaking, I ended up installing a new one.
I also replaced the heater hoses, radiator upper and lower hoses, and the sneaky little hose behind the turbo intake hose that feeds the turbo coolant line.

Which side of the car is it on? If on drivers side, I'd suspect a heater hose. Passenger side, what Steve said. If you had a turbo and it's in the middle, I'd suggest the turbo hose by the exhaust.

if not the overflow tank check the heater core hoses clamps and the core itself that accepts the hose.

Im going to look into it more tomorrow. Im leaning towards a loose hose or a crack in the reservoir. I noticed that the smoke is pouring out through the throttle body/ intake manifold. Its something I never saw before. Could it be a pcv or something? it smokes really bad. the car isn't overheating or anything either

Does your PT Cruiser have the turbo?
