I would suggest that when the oil was changed they loosened or pulled a wire or when you went over the tracks it triggered the PT Cruiser to go dead.

Do you have a lot of keys on your key ring? If so the weight of the keys might effected the ignition switch if the ignition switch is worn out.

If your PT Cruiser is an 2001 or 2002 you might want to check and see if you have wires hitting the axle under the engine shorting to ground.

If your battery cable connections are loose it could cause it to go dead. Check and make sure your cable connections are tight.

What year is your PT Cruiser?

Yes after reaching home first thing I checked was battery connectors seemed ok but I tighted up

No just two keys in keychain

May be some loose connection

Let me know if you think of something, its my wife's car so dont want her to get stuck

If you have the TIPM you really need to check the battery. The PT Cruisers with the TIPM are extremely sensitive to voltage drops. I would take the caps off the battery and check the battery levels. On one of my PT Cruisers I have to check the battery every 3 months. Get the battery load tested. You can take it to Sears and they will test it for free.

Personally, Sears is the LAST place I'd take a battery. I guarantee if you take it there, you're going to be told you need a new battery. Probably $150 one at least! Autozone, Advance, NAPA, Pep Boys, O'Reilly or Car Quest will all be better choices. Find the closest one to you and take it there. No disrespect, Steve, but based on personal experiences and knowing folks that have been screwed by Sears, I avoid them.

Chuzz, sorry you have been having that experience. I watch the person doing the load testing and check to make sure they are doing the load testing process correctly each time I take it there. Have you been charging the battery before taking it in for load testing?

Nitro's way of checking a battery

I had this problem back around 2012. Car was acting crazy - dash lights flickering, all the lights coming on and going off. When I checked my battery terminals, the connections seemed fine, but the battery was moving around and causing intermittent problems and at times completely disconnecting and killing the engine. I think I actually realized what it was and fixed it at the toll booth for the GW at 3 am Christmas. Tightened it down and no problems (same old battery) since.
