Default Planning on buying

Hi. I am considering buying my next Cruiser, a 2007 model. I know they had a problem with the clutch, especially in 2003, so can anyone tell me if the later modules are any better regarding this clutch problem? About 2years ago we had to replace the clutch in our 54 plate cruiser, so I'm hoping to avoid this problem again.... Thanks in advance.

I take it your overseas somewhere as the PT in the U.S. isn't called a 54 plate. Actually, not even sure what the means. More on topic, I haven't heard of a problem with clutches here. It is a wear and tear item so they do have to be changed after awhile, even more so depending on how the driver uses that clutch.

Okay....

So you previously owned a PT Cruiser "54 Plate" (registered between Sept 2004 and March 05 in the UK), and now you are looking to buy a 2007 PT Cruiser?

Here in the US, all PT Cruisers come with the 2.4L engine. If you have the diesel or 2.0 petrol engine, then your clutch may be different than in the US version. So I guess we need a European member with a 2nd Generation PT Cruiser to chime in. The US PT Cruisers don't seem to have more clutch problems than other similar cars.

And welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!
