Default engine bay love

What is the best way to show some tlc inside the engine bay? I want to remove all that grease and oil, is it safe to spray engine degreaser and wash it off with a hose at a self serve car wash, or use their engine bay degreaser? I've done this to other cars but ours and srt4's look loaded with electrical stuff and that worries me about washing it.

What do you guys do? How do you keep it clean? Thanks guys!

I've used Gunk on my PT twice without any problems.
Just try & not spray anything on the PCM or TIPM...degreaser or water & you should be fine.

Nicely damped microfibre cloth + wife's toothbrush when she's at work is good for nooks and crannies ( wd40 is good )

Here's what I do. And this is basically same for every used vehicle I've bought over the last twenty years.

I start by using some spray engine cleaner while at the car wash. Then I wash the engine. Then a week or so later, I do it again. And then just wash it over and over. And yes, I do this even before I go see my "team" that usually washes and details the rest of my cars. And over a period of time, the engine becomes very clean. Then it only needs cleaning once in a blue moon as long as there are no oil and/or fluid leaks. It's gentle and it works.

Also, change the valve cover gasket. I've never owned an aged Daimler Chrysler that didn't need it. The factory valve cover gaskets on these cars seem to be woefully inadequate in my humble opinion.
