Seat color indicates it is probably a Platinum Edition.

You can replace the pedals...I few users have posted about it.

Yes, this is a Platinum Edition.

However, there was a "Chrome Package" option available on most PT's for 2004/2005 that provided the silver petals, chrome spears, chrome shifter cover, chrome door pulls and the GT style steering wheel. The giveaway that the PT in the Photos is a Platinum Edition is the seat color as already mentioned. There should also be Platinum badges on the front fenders.

Also note that the silver pedals are not just covers. The actual brake and accelerator petals are different than in other PT's. While the silver covers can be removed, they are not a direct fit on the standard petals. I've added the silver petals to a 2001 Limited. And I have a spare set right now awaiting my next PT project.

If you want a recommendation on what kind of PT Cruiser to buy, my recommendation is a 2004 or 2005 GT. Hands down, these are the most fun if you are a car enthusiast. And they have the most aftermarket stuff still available. I would also add the 2003 thru 2005 Dream Cruisers to that list. The 2003 will need a little mod to have the same horsepower, but the 2003 Dream Cruise is a beautiful car.

I don't mean to hijack, but I've been wondering about this subject and how it pertains to my car.
Mine is a 2005 Limited, very much unmolested until I got it. It has the chrome door lock posts, the fancy logo plates on the sills, the chrome strips on the grille, but no chrome shifter cover, no silver shifter ball, no silver GT type steering wheel post covers, and regular black pedals.
So it doesn't have the Chrome Package, but why does it have the other stuff?
