I have a 2003 gt turbo cruiser that came with the original stock radio. I now have the RB1 navigation system and sirius radio option. I purchased the sirius satellite radio mopar parts and installed everything myself using following the factory installation guide. It's easy to route the cable under the trim and into the trunk. Never bother with the dealer - nobody genuinely cares about customers anymore. They just want you go to away.

The artist and song title have always been displayed. I don't have a CD changer installed, but there is a cable people with a cd changer installed would need in order to see the artist and song title: http://www.tenaflyjeepmoparparts.com/mosisarasy.html

Adapter Cable for vehicles with GPS SytstemsSirius Satellite Radio/RB1 Audio System Adapter: for vehicle with an RB1 Navigation Radio and a CD Changer. With this adapter, song title and artist name is shown on radio screen.

Some photos of my installation:

Some more progress on the wiring harnesses.

This problem only affects some PT Cruisers with a factory-installed Sirius radio. It appears to affect many GTs, in which the Sirius radio is a factory option - I have not found one that works. It appears to NOT affect DC3s, in which the Sirius radio is a standard factory feature. SO there is something different about the specs for the wiring harness installed in these PTs.

There is definately a factory defect causing this problem - a missing wire in the factory wiring harmess - see my diagram below.

I have confirmed that the Nav unit and the in-dash 6-CD changer are capable of displaying full station ID, Artist, and Title info. I believe the standard single-disc CD will also display some or all of this info - I'll check that this week-end, as I have one as a take-out from my wife's Jeep.

The dealer I am dealing with - Rancho Chrysler/Jeep in San Diego - has no information on the factory wiring harnesses, and so far keeps claiming that MOPAR tech support won't call him back. I've tried contacting Mopar tech support directly with my proof of this factory defect, but so far they have told me to go through my dealer. Basically, I'm getting the run-around, despite having bought two new Mopar products in the last two months.

However, I will keep after it.

I don't have sirius but I do get artist, song title and radio station call letters on my display. Just the stock radio/cd player-changer.

Jeff V, Thanks! Saves me the trouble of checking it.

MOPAR headunits capable of displaying artist/title that have been confirmed to date:
RBP stock radio/cassette/CD player
RBQ in-dash 6-CD changer
RB1 Navigation unit

If you have a factory installed Sirius receiver, and any of these head units, and artist/title info does not display in Sirius mode, then you are affected by the factory flaw described in this thread.

While we are talking about the RBQ with 6-CD Changer (mine does not display Artist or Title, it's an '04 DC3) -- does anyone know the specifications on this unit? RMS? Watts? Amps? Power output and Sensitivity ratings? I'm trying to figure out if a component speaker system to replace the factory door speakers will work off the head unit...

I did not receive a factory booklet of any kind referring to the Sirius system or radio unit, itself (other than the blurb in the Owners Manual).

8-3-04 UPDATE...
I found one website that seems to list details on the various radio head units for the PT. Mine (the RBQ with 6-CD Changer)supposedly has 66 Watts Total Power (probably Peak, however -- being surmised at 20-25 on a continuous average basis) with 3% THD. Located here:

Thanks,

Guy
