Default The PT Cruiser and Dirt.

My experiences with the car expand as I continue driving it and one thing that came to my attention is that it seems to get dirty to the point where it needs a wash quite a bit faster and easier than other cars.

The rear of the car seems to be a fully working dirt magnet, the whole back hatch gets covered with dust and road dirt.

I don't know is it because of the buff body kit,dem fenders causing turbolence or something but its definitely a fact.

My friend and I take a road trip together,he's got a 2002 Audi A4,after 50 kilometers he's just got a little dust on his side skirts while on the PT there is dust going all the way up to the handles and the rear hatch is camouflaged.

Any other forum members felt this?

There are dozens of vehicles that have the dirt collecting problem on the rear for years. Our MINI's get far dirtier and much quicker then our PT does.

Now what sucks on our PT is that I have an exhaust that the tail pipe turns down in front of the axle assembly. Needles to say I clean lots of street. That is not so bad as having the occasion to be on a none paved road.

What color is your PT? Could the color be influencing your perception on this? I find that my PT stays cleaner than my previous car, but my PT is white and my previous car was bright blue.
Any vehicle with a flattish rear (no trunk sticking out to protect it) will have problems with dirt on the rear window. There is a low pressure zone behind the car.

There's a very simple once-a-week cure for this when it come to a PT.

Its a dark blue metallic,not a dirt-friendly color,dirt makes it look awful.
