This was the second ac I ever worked on.
Pt, non turbo. 85 degrees f outside sunny System open for tb change. New accumulator dryer. Sucked down two hours. Closed off, held suction. Put one 12 oz can in. I was around 26 psi, air felt so so. Hooked up another can. Filled to about 35 psi. Used digital thermometer, 43 degrees f. I'm happy with how cold it is. I'm scared I overcharged it. I used what seems 1 2/3 cans. I know I should have used more like 1.5 cans. Both the low and high side pressure lines are cold with ac running. Is that normal? |

One thing to note. The car is super smooth at idle. Even with ac it's hard to tell its on. I guess it's all three motor mounts. I didn't use anchor mounts. The bottom has the ES filler plug. New plugs and wires too. The other pt was rough at idle a little. I didn't change the middle mount on that one.

Oh. The upper and lower torque mounts are new. |

Have you checked to make sure the alignment dimension is correct after installing the new upper and lower torque mounts? If the torque mounts and alignment is not done correctly per the shop factory manual your new torque mounts will not last very long.

Most people DIY as well mechanics simply install them without care to the correct way of installing them because how easy they think they are to replace. There are numerous youtube videos as well thread responses indicating the incorrect installation procedures which will lead to premature failure and incorrect engine support and alignment.

The user name is a light hearted joke. I actually liked my friends so much I bought my own.
Hers I screwed up the motor mount alignment first. This one it's measured perfectly. Right in the correct spot. |
