Default 2005 limited edition still going strong

20160525_073604.jpgWell we just got back from a 1800+ mile trip from phoenix to hwy 108 in the sierra nevadas of northern California. Ive been a little worried about a few components like the water pump and the cps- two things you don't want to change along side the road but our little turtle did great!

Thank goodness I had to do the alignment, when I jacked up the front end one of the horrible kuhmos (or ohatsu, cant remember) had a bad blister and would of delaminated on the trip. so here is my huge thumbs up to the mid priced falken pro G4 a/s. much stiffer sidewall and most importantly, almost zero noise while driving. both the above tires failed miserably in all departments! found that the front right was 1" out of alignment as it was pulling pretty bad to the left. corrected it with 30' of string

Even though the fan belts looked ok (oem) I still replaced them but with high end 3yr belts from autozone. 35$ a piece from the dealer- no thankyou! threw the old ones in the jack compartment like I always do.

cruising at around 27/2800rpm, about 77/79mph we, for the first time, got to 320miles at a quarter tank- which is amazing! on the final leg home though I cruised at 81mph and barely did 260miles at a quarter tank ...

only issue since replacing the computer and all trans sensors is the multi function switch fog light control shorted and fog lights stay on, killing the battery. pulling the fuse cured that right up! Our turtle did awesome going up and down the mountain and even a little bit of off roading when we were up at 6,000' the thing continues to half impress me and half scare me!

Yep.

These little cars were designed simple enough that if well maintain and diligent about repair, you may be able to drive them forever.

And that's a nice machine you have there.
