Default Ahhhhh, codes galore. :(

After getting a 2005 PT Cruiser Touring (with 2.4L turbo) 10 days ago (with 107,300 miles) - the gremlins are quickly slapping me around.

P0452 (Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Low Input)
P0300 (Cylinder Misfire Fault Detected Random Cylinders)
P0201 (Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 1)
P0202 (Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 2)
P0203 (Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 3)
P0204 (Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 4)
P0508 (Idle Air Control Valve Sense Circuit Low)
P0032 (02 Sensor 1/1 Heater Circuit High)
P0038 (02 Sensor 1/2 Heater Circuit High)

Soooooooooooooooooooooo, possible bad ignition coil pack?

It can't be the battery (went to Autozone and the Battery is fine under load). and I'm not getting the Battery light.

Also, weirdly - the ABS light has come on and the speedometer won't show the needle above 20 mph (even if I am going 50)..... but RPM is showing fine.

Ugh........

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your service

On to PT Cruiser stuff.

Your information is not really good..

Lets try it first from square one..
Clear your DTC's with a Diagnostic Scanning Tool at the OBDII Diagnostic connector then drive and recheck either as soon as the DTC light comes on or after one day of driving. Then report what DTC are actually in fault.

I thought the info was pretty clear.

DTC was cleared....... same codes came back after 15 miles (Check Engine Light flashed, and then stayed on, and my speedo would only show up to 20 mph despite my GPS saying 50 mph). Shuddering and engine quitting at idle. ABS light then comes on.

Weirdness ensues. I do the Chrysler Key Dance. And you already have my codes.

I think it is pretty detailed regarding the experience/codes.

I suspect you either have a really crap body ground somewhere or you have a duff PCM. When was it last serviced? Has it stood for a while on a lot somewhere?

First I would suggest you check the fuel pressure. Make sure you are getting 58 +/- 5 PSI.

If fuel pressure is good then check the fuel injector voltage. You should be reading around 12.9 volts.

If you are reading 12.9 volts on the fuel injector then its time to check the wiring going to the ECM from the injectors.

If the wires going to the ECM then its time to check the ECM itself.

First, check the wiring harness above the passenger front tire...make sure it's not rubbing on the axle.
Second, P0508 IAC valve sense circuit low

Maybe start from the beginning of this thread and re-read everything from everyone?

The key dance is a very poor form of Diagnostic evaluating and you need a scanning tool to effectively help solve your issues.
Goodluck...

Of course a scanning tool will be the preferred method. It was a Saturday afternoon (with zero shops open), so the key dance was a start and it at least points in directions - especially when posting in a forum of members who may have seen this combination of codes.

I have read what everyone has written, and I appreciate all comments. If we can get past this, enlightenment on my part will ensue.

Since I am still waiting for the dealership's shop to send their mechanic to me (and I am at 107,000 miles), I made a command decision to replace the Battery, Alternator, Serpentine Belt, Coil Pack, Plug Wires, and Plugs (about $300 in parts - and the alternator & Battery will be tested on the bench before it is installed). That way I start from a fresh foundation (and if issues are still showing up after), I can nail it down to a ground, the PCM, or the wiring harness.

This also reduces the diagnostic aspect of what the "Cars Protection Plus" extended warranty doesn't pay for regarding the diagnosis process. $300 up front on my part with parts that have unlimited warranties, so the warranty company and the mechanic know they are dealing with someone who isn't wasting time (and ensures that I know these parts are new / refurbished and can be counted on versus the original OEM parts that may be tired by this point).

My hope, was that a member may see this particular set of codes (and having experience with that set of codes), may inform me of what they contended with - possible solutions.

FYI - the IAC is also a concern (for sure). That is the first thing I am having diagnosed by the mechanic.
