Default 2006 Trunk constantly releases

Trunk releases when stopped and when moving MOST of the time. Relay?
Latch? Car is all power with remotes etc. When inside locking the doors seems to eliminate the problem
Hopefully someone can help the mechanical challenged guy.

I would bet your touchpad switch has failed, or is in the process of failing, and momentarily triggering on its own and unlatching the latch mechanism. If you wanted to see if it was the touchpad switch, you could remove the rear hatch inner panel and unplug the switch. Then drive around as normal for a while and see if the hatch still unlatches on its own. If it doesn't, then it would be the touchpad switch that is the cause.

Mine recently failed and instead of replacing the entire emblem/handle assembly, which is what is required to replace the switch, I installed a second switch under the handle assembly, cost about $15 in parts and work great!

You'd have to change all that hardware?? That's insane ... is there a fuse, for it???

Pull the fuse (if there is one) call it day ... worry about it later.

Don't know if there is a separate fuse for just the rear hatch, if there is a fuse for the locks, it would most likely control all the locks, so if you remove the fuse, then all the door locks would stop as well.

If you did find out that the touchpad switch is bad, I guess you could just leave it unplugged, and then you would have to use the key everytime you wanted to unlatch the hatch?

With the doors unlocked & driving, do all the door auto lock when you hit 15 MPH..??
Also with the car off & doors locked w/alarm on, unlock the rear hatch with the key. Does the alarm go off..??
