Default Radiator Fan Assembly and relays

Good morning,

I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I am replacing the fan assembly on an 08 Cruiser (non turbo), and like a total newb, I didn't check the new part before taking my car apart. The fan I was sold says it's compatible with my car (just double checked), but where my original fan had two relays on the top left, this one does not. Can I use this assembly in my car?

Side question. The videos on disconnecting the electrical connection to the fan make it look easy, however mine is wedged right where I'm having issues getting at it from above or below. Any tips?

The computer controls the fan speeds using the two relays, check the fine details on the fan. Sounds like you still need the correct one.
The pre 2006 NA PTC (different computer system) did not have the relays on the fan housing.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was afraid of. Thank you.

As far as your plugs go, do they have small red clips on them? If so, you need to slide those clips backwards, then you can depress the tab under them and pull them apart. It's a lock system and sometimes they break due to the heat making them brittle. Look closely.

You should have the four pin radiator fan grey plug that has the two relays on the radiator fan assembly. If you only see three wires going to the black plug on the new radiator fan you received you have the wrong one for the 2008 PT Cruiser.

The radiator fan plug is really tight and hard to take apart as there is a rubber seal inside keeping it water proof on the original radiator fans that came with the 2008 PT Cruisers.
