Default Disable Air bag deer Impact Imminent

I'm injoying my 05 LTD turbo
but I'm losing my nerve..... The whole air bag in the wheel.

I feel like it's waiting to punch me in the most inop time
( like when not if I'll hit a deer)
question : do I hit deer often.?
not often I have (motorcycle)... And do see carnage more then I like

Were I live the speed limit is 25-40 max through my 11 mile commute daily
The deer population is off the chart.... it's bad.
People feed them treat them like pet's
When I go there I don't want to be slamed by the bag in the wheel
I know ...."Please use the search function"
( to many threads contain words like air bag , steering wheel,)
I apoligize if my post is inappropriate because of subject matter

Do you want to disable the airbag in the steering wheel? We don't have the takata air bag that can go off without notice and send shrapnel into our face. We (PT Cruiser) don't have the recall that 1000's of others do but it will go off if the front is hit in the correct spot hopefully/maybe saving your life or saving you from more injury depending on what you hit. Rule of thumb is to keep the airbag at least 10 inches from your face.

Sometimes it matters what you hit if the airbag will do any good.

in this car the airbag is not activated by sensor on the front. it has a box behind the e-brake lever that senses impact severity and direction with an accelerometer. i would doubt you would set it off with a low speed impact to a deer.

if you want it deactivated anyways, unplug the box in the picture. keep in mind you'll have the airbag light on if you disable it. always disconnect the battery before touching anything airbag related.

i removed all the sensors, wiring, and the control module for the one in my mustang because in 1992 ford did have the violent and overly powerful airbags. i also removed the idiot light from the intsrument cluster.
