Default mileage?

what is considered average mileage for a PTC with the 2.4 motor?

I have been 'playing' with the aveerage mileage guage and working it to go higher, I started at 18.3 and now up to 21.6 mpg
I never have any problem starting or running, and it seems to run pretty good .

Are you the second owner of your PT? If so, you can join the Chrysler High Miler club and get a free license plate frame for your PT, and yours will be a 200,000 mile one!

Just click on the link below and then click on the Chrysler link to apply:

You are in the range for an automatic - I say for a manual you'd be low.
A lot depends on where you drive - remember, sitting at a red light you are getting zero MPG.
Check tire pressure often and keep the tires inflated.
Accelerate slowly and when there's a red light ahead, coast - take your foot off the gas.
I keep a small book in glove compartment and write down every fillup, and have since car was new.
I'm at 128,000 + miles and get just a hair over 25 MPG OVERALL.

In my '01 LE with 147K, I can get up to about 27mpg on the highway with summer blend gas. I do a mixture of highway (70%) and city(30%) and get about 22 mpg overall. Back when I did all city driving, I'd get about 18-19mpg around town with summer blend gas and about 16-17 with winter blend.

Here is what I had after my latest trip.

'06 with a 5-speed manual. Mostly highway miles. I can easily get 26 - 27 daily driving which is half and half.

But I have gotten as much as:

2006 Limited Edition, Inferno Red, 5-speed, Bassani dual exhaust, Chrome backup light bezels, taillight trim, fuel door, antenna mount, Ventiports, door spear covers & hood prop. Silver painted lower front grille. American Racing 383 Casino wheels, w/Chrysler emblems, '02 engine cover, PT Cruiser mudguards, cargo mat. EGR Window Visors, dark gray lock pulls, dual horns, Fuzzy Dice, flames and MOPAR emblems added to front door logos, gold Chrysler emblem on rear hatch. Upgraded to RAK radio with 6 CD changer, Cassette Tape and RDS info. Name: "FIREBALL" I bought it Aug 10, 2015, with just over 35,600 miles on it.

2004 Limited Edition Platinum Series, Graphite Metallic, Standard Turbo, automatic, RBQ radio with Sirius Radio & 6 CD changer, VentShades, chrome exhaust tip, door spears, grille inserts, door lock pulls, bright pedals and steering wheel spokes. Red spoiler from a donor PT. Known as: "The RATMOBILE" I bought it Apr 28th, 2016 with 62,400 miles on it.

Wow, that's great. My auto gets an average of 17.9 in mostly city driving. On two 100+ mile trips with two in the car and the A/C on, I got just over 22 which was good. I noticed that if I get it into high gear, the mileage is in the mid to high 20's but the gearing ratio was made for power and acceleration rather than mileage. An UltraGauge that displays instantaneous mileage is really helpful.
