Default Rear latch hidden button broke and a tire PSI question

Was at a store, pushed the button to raise the rear hatch. Worked no problem.

Got home to unload and now the button is pressed in permanently and i have to use the key to open the door. not good.

Does anyone know of a trick to pop the button back out? i tried but couldn't get it to move.

I also have one other question.

Due to the obviously young kid that had this car before me, he put wheels on that require a tire that's 205/50R17 and obviously not cheap.

I got the cheapest tires I could find, but for the life of me i can't find the recommended PSI. I do see a max psi but that can't be the normal?\

this is what the tire specs I found on the web say. but 44 psi? that can't be normal operating pressure right? i figured between 30 and 35 somewhere

I guess you have a 2005 or newer PT with the touchpad to open the hatch. There is a thread on this right here that shows how simple it is to put in a $2 Radio Shack switch. Or you could replace the touchpad if you want to spend the bucks. The thread covers both options.
Liftgate touchpad replacement

The tire pressure should be 35 PSI cold.
