Question Fold-flat passenger seat

Hey, everyone, I've searched the forum but must not have the right keywords. I've read that some PTs have a front passenger seat that folds down flat. My 2010 doesn't seem to do it. Is there a secret handshake, or a lever I haven't found?

What would it take to find a flat-folding seat in a junkyard and install it in my car? Are there issues with the airbag or anything?

Thanks,
Bill

What trim level of PT do you have? For instance, in the dealership brochure for my model year PT, the fold-flat passenger seat option is standard on all trim levels, except the base trim level.

It's the same lever on the side of the seat that makes it recline, or fold-flat:

I thought there was only one trim level in 2010. Would the seat show up on that VIN inquiry tool (it's in another one of my threads, about chrome spears)? I'll go have a look...

OK, so I downloaded my build sheet. No mention of a fold-flat seat.

Yeah I just found the dealership brochure for the 2010 PT and there is only one trim level because it was the last year.

According to the brochure the fold-flat seat was included in the Convenience Group package:

Use this website to get the build sheet for your PT:

Dodge - Contact Us

On the left side click on:

Equipment Listing

then in the middle of the page in the white box enter your vehicle VIN

then Search

One would think that it being the last year of the PT, that they would include everything.

So the question narrows to: is it possible to swap in a seat, taking into account airbag sensors and whatnot? Actually, I'm wondering if the fold-flat feature could be as simple as different lever/latch hardware which could be swapped on to the existing seat. Nah, that would be too easy!

Thanks for putting a name to the package. I'm off to dig up more info.

One would think! But it sounds more like they really cut corners on the later years. I have to say, my 2001 Limited was nicer than this 2010, feature-wise.
