Keep trying different brands of blades. The ones I have on my PT now are the Rain X brand from Walmart. Kind of a hybrid blade, and have been very quiet. The chatter and skipping usually come after the flexibility of the rubber decreases. A while back I had bought the Silblade brand that have a lifetime warranty. I have one set of their blue ones that skipped and chattered from the beginning. I thought it might be the blue dye they used that changed the flexibility of the rubber. So Silblade replaced them for free with a black set, which does the same thing.

i stiffened the spring on mine and it made it chatter. i did this initially to make the passenger side blade conform betterto the highly curved PT glass... the chatter was an unwanted side effect.
i waxed the window a couple times and it helped. might try wax before buying a pile of blades ![]() |

Clean you windshield and make sure you dont have any water spot mineral deposits. Clean the wiper blade with alcohol.
If it persist get ear plugs or take leather conditioner and wipe on the blade a very, very thin coat, that will cure the chatter. If the frame or blade assembly is of really poor quality then you may need to change brands. This is seldom the case and unless you are in a bad weather condition with hard rain and high winds most all wipers will work well. Manufactures fill the media with HYP about wiper performance regarding theirs and have for decades. Not to say that some are pretty good but those are generally the ones that are 15-30 bucks each. ![]() You do not need to buy expensive wiper, I would but the cheap ones and replace them at least every 6 months. I personally replace the wipers at the first sign of not doing the job well or every 4 months. I usually purchase my wipers on sale most of the time through Rock Auto. |

I like the beam style wiper blades. They seem to fit the windshields a little better and don't look clunky. My go-to brand used to be Michelin. But I can't find them much anymore even online.
The Bosch Icon are what I have on my Charger and they are stupendous but too expensive in my opinion. They squeaked a little too when I first installed them but then broke in and are now silent. The ones I have on my PT are Rain-X Latitude # 5079277-1 and #15079277-1. They work very well but the part that attached to the wipe is UGLY. I don't why they engineered them to look like that. ![]() ![]()

Sometimes wipers chatter if the arm gets slightly bent/twisted. The blade should be perpendicular to the glass.
Also try a heavy duty glass cleaner, to really scrub the gunk off the window. Alot of times regular glass cleaner won't cut through the really tough stuff that gets on there.

I used to install windshields- store fronts and custom cut and do edge grinding and polishing of plate glass and laminated safety glass.
I learned to rub my hands over windshields before installing new wiper blades to check for tar or tree sap stuck to the glass. I used a single edge razor in a inspection sticker scraper laid at a low angle to clean the glass of anything . First vertical then horizontal over the same area makes the glass as smooth as a nice polished body panel. Once had a lady, she watched tv about BonAmi did not scratch, oops they didn't mention glass. Looked ok in daylight but was glare with oncoming headlights.

![]() I use powdered rice hulls. The water spots breakdown on contact and it polishes the glass. No masking or worry about harming other finishes just rinse off with water and dry. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
