Default Body parts questions

Hi everyone, new here to your forum. I'm trying to save an '08 base model from the crusher and of course I have a question!

Will the first gen hood and fender fit on the second gen? Every wrecking yard I've contacted says "oh no, you must have 2nd gen parts." Replacement part numbers are the same for both. There are no second gen's in the yards here. Several first gen to choose from. Anyone with first hand knowledge?

The car only has 88k on it so I think its worth fixing.

Thanks, JM

Welcome to the forum

I wish you luck with your project PT

How did you acquire the vehicle? If you know nothing about the history of it, you're coming due for the timing belt replacement at the 100,000 mile mark. While the area is torn apart, there are several other items you should consider replacing at the same time.

Thanks all!

LionPT. Well that was my guess. I had one fellow get mad at me because "This is my business and I Know what I'm talking about"
Talk about grumpy.

rkstein, I got the car at Copart. So history is unknown. Not sure if I'll keep it or fix it and sell. Runs really well. It has a tow hitch on the front, I think that previous owner jackknifed into his own car. Bent hood and fender.

Thanks Handy!
