Cool New to forum have questions.

Hello PT Cruiser fan's
I have a 05 PT GT with 124,000 miles on it have had it for a few months. run's great. needs a some interior work, new top it's a convertible, may need a new turbo not sure. I've been reading somethings on hear and saw that I should use synthetic oil in it. I know that's never been use in it before. with those miles can I switch to Royal purple I've herd I can but not sure. I would also like to find the stage one parts for it spring's, pcm, maybe some turbo toy's. Was thinking of getting a agp turbo for it. any help would be welcomed.
I am also looking for factory wheels for my pt gt if anyone can help

Thanks
Rob

you can use royal purple, but i prefer to use oil without coloring. RP turns brown and looks dirty. i usually use something like mobil 1 instead because i like judging my oil by color.. the brown oil makes me feel OCD

Welcome to the forum I like your signature picture.

Many automotive fluids have coloring added. Its for sales (gimmick) and also safety for proper usage of product. This coloring of fluids for automotive use dates all the way back to the first "filling stations".

Welcome to the forum.

I'll let the turbo guys answer your other questions but as far as your wheels. New GT factory wheels are very expensive. It's pure luck to find someone selling decent GT wheels when they upgrade.

Here's a site that lets you see all the different wheels for your GT. You can change the color of the cruiser and as you click on the wheels it shows you what they look like and the price per wheel. I've already set it for a 2005 GT.

If you don't have proof the timing belt was changed, you better put that to the top of your list of things to do.

I run Castrol 10w-30 full synthetic in my GT. I can't tell any difference at all and it uses very little oil between 7,500 mile changes.

Welcome to the forum from Texas. I don't have convertible or a turbo, I do have a Cruiser, a 2001 LE NA. I bought it with 93,000 miles and changed to synthetic 10w30 at the 100,000 oil change. It's up to 112,000 with no problems.

Be sure and check on the TB, mine broke at 110,000. Besides the ICE COLD adult beverages I had with me, I really didn't enjoy being broke down on the side of the road in 100 degree weather.
