Default Mirror 2AX02 vs. 3AX01

Hi folks,

I noticed that the replacement heated, electric, folding driver's side mirror I installed from the salvage yard has "3AX01" printed on the glass. It came off of an '01.

My broken mirror has "2AX02" printed on it, as does the passenger mirror.

Anyone happen to know what the difference is, if any?

I wouldn't worry about it, does the heat function on it work?

My mirrors are not heated, but the drivers is marked 08-DCA-11 and the passenger 10-DCA-12.

Yup, the heat works.

I'm asking more out of curiosity. I like to know the small "secrets" of the PT.

I'll have to check mine tomorrow, but they both used to have 06 in the number...I replaced the drivers side glass & I think it says 05 now. I'm pretty sure the last number for yours is the year...as mine would be the 1st numbers.

I don't know about "rckstein" as both of his numbers are different.

Both of my mirrors have been replaced, with OEM ones. I still have the originals and will look at those.

Drivers 9-DCA-3 (replaced)
Passenger 8-DCA-5

My PT was built in Aug 2005 so 8-DCA-5 makes sense to me.

Both of the original mirrors off my PT, are marked 9-DCA-5. My PT was made 10/05, which the mirror markings would make sense if the numbers mean 09/05, which were probably when the mirrors were made.

Very interesting and good info guys. Thanks for taking the time to check.

My originals say 2/02 and my pt is a 2002.

Also interestin, when my car was hit the first time last year the drivers side mirror was replaced and it was marked 2AX02 like the original. Talk about dumb luck.
