Why does my engine sound like this on cold mornings?

Default Why does my engine sound like this on cold mornings?

I recommend to go get a new batter. Or at least get a proper load test on that one because it is really working hard. Clean the battery cables at the battery and the body ground.

The DIY first thing is to get a bottle of Marvel Mystery oil and add the complete bottle to the oil. DO NOT remove any engine oil. Than when you are no more than 1/4 tank of fuel go to a Chevron only and fill your fuel tank. Drive for a 50-75 miles, no more than 150 miles and change the oil and filter. Do not add any other fuel or oil additives.

If the noise starts to subside on cold morning starts repeat the above a couple more time. Chances are if you are lucky only varnish has accumulated on the valve train and other internal engine parts.
Otherwise it time to get out all the test equipment and start an engine health evaluation. Compression, leak down, block test etc,.

I would add to the above to use synthetic oil. It's like chicken soup, it can't hurt.
