Default I like it more than I thought I would

I bought my 2002 Limited Edition almost 2 weeks ago and I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I drive an an hour one way to work (highway driving) and the car is comfortable, and you have good visibility while driving. For such a heavy car with a 2.4L non turbo and 149k I've been averaging 27 MPG.

This weekend I'm replacing the plugs and wires since I have no idea when the last time they may have been replaced I'm assuming the MPG may be slightly better after the change. Eventually I'll get around to changing the shocks and struts which will make it even more comfortable.

I've had many vehicles over the years and some I've like better than others. I can honestly say in the short time I've had the Cruiser I really like it. Mechanically I feel it's a solid car so I can't understand the negative reviews I've seen.

27 average MPG hwy driving is pretty much all I got on both of my PT Cruisers.

Yes, I too was surprised that the seating, even in back, is comfortable, even on a six hundred mile round trip.
These little cars are lots of fun, fairly easy to work on and parts, for the most part, are cheap.
I can't wait to get my 02 Dream on the road and my 07 Pacific Coast for a taste of non Turbo PT fun.
You'll be enjoying yours for a good while as will easily make 200K and possibly even 300K miles.

Welcome to the forum

Please post some pics of your PT when you get a chance

As you mentioned, I like the visibility you have while driving, you sit a little bit higher than some other vehicles, so you can see more of what's going on around you.

Welcome to the forum. I WISH my GT got that kind of mileage. I get about 21 mpg out of it.

I know what you mean. I bought my '02 Limited Edition last year and every time I drive it, especially on the highway, I realize how much I enjoy driving it. It's comfortable, good visibility, the lumbar support and height adjustment for the driver seat are helpful, and the heated seats are now coming in handy with the frigid weather here in NY.
I'm getting about 23mpg with local driving, a bit more on the highway.

Looks good! Nice and clean. I have the same rims. I like the look of them a lot.

Planning any mods/upgrades/cosmetic changes?
