Default ABS, Brake and Traction light on

The lights have been on the last 9 months and no problem driving the car. Yesterday took the 03 GT in and had the shop replace radiator that was under warranty and they ran a test on the ABS and the code came up, Code 22 CAB Failure and was told that I need a ABS Module. The damn thing cost over 600.00 dollars to replace. Can I replace it with another one from another PT ? Also will it pass smog here in Cal with the ABS, Brake and Trac light on ?

I'm pretty sure you won't pass inspection with lights on. Check with Lynn. He will know for fact if so. Yes you can replace from a used PT. You will need to find out the proper way to bleed the air. Again Lynn will be your best option for help on this.

Started mine up to come home from the pub last night and got all 3 lights on

Drove OK, so I pootled home through the snow. Turned it off when I got home, locked it and unlocked it, started up again - this time just the ABS and the Trac Off lights on

Havent started it yet this morning, so I don't know what I will get, but is this a common electrical gremlin, and is there anything "known" to look out for?

(PS: At first I thought it was my lock blipper going AWOL as it wouldn't lock or unlock in the pub car park when I got there - I had to unlock it with the key to get home - but by the time I got home it was working OK.)

Audi ABS modules new cost over $1200 on year 2000 models (and that was list price back in that year too). I wouldn't be complaining about a high cost as it's a great value compared to other cars.

Lights were on, then went out after 50 metres driving... I'm obviously going to have to go through the electrics and clean contacts come the spring weather

your problem is in the ABS system. Could be a faulty wheel sensor or anything else in the system. Need to have your computer red to find out what codes are stored in there. A sparatic problem will allow the code to reset the light.
