Default Those darn windshield washer hose parts

I'm sure by now many of you have had nozzles get brittle and crack. I have also found that all the other plastic parts in the washer hose assembly have the same problem. In fact, I have replaced most of the hose connectors with drip irrigation parts in both my PTs. I can't really do that with this most recent break. It is the right angle connector that secures the hood liner and also connects to the washer hose going from the hood to the firewall. I can't find that part anywhere. Does someone know where to find new ones?

I tried to find one of those once and could not find the part. Most likely it will only come complete with the entire hose assembly. Since you said you replaced other fittings with drip irrigation parts, I would get a standoff that will plug into the open hole in the hood just below the fitting, get a 90 degree connector to connect the 2 lines, clip the hose in the standoff, then use a standard hood retainer clip to fill the hole where the connector was removed. Another alternative would be a trip to a salvage yard. If none close to you, maybe some other forum member can grab one for you on their next trip to a yard, and mail it to you for a small fee.

Replacement nozzles for your PT: These are from a 2006 Chrysler 2006 Pacifica and have a 90 degree bend on the bottom and an adjustable nozzle and are 10 times better than the original ones and all you will have to do is reroute your hoses. You will enjoy these even better if you can locate them at a salvage yard. This price is for a pair of them....

rkstein, I have resigned myself to the solution you recommend. I don't have time to visit a yard and I assume that any parts I find there will be fairly brittle by now.

I would try looking in the electrical section of stores for a plastic standoff that will go in the hole, should be able to find something and will probably end up being a better fix than what some over-paid engineer did when they designed that special fitting.

Here's a style that will plug into the hole:

Here's another style that you can then use a wire clamp attached with a screw:

This would be the easiest fix, a self-adhesive mounting square. Stick it to the metal of the hood and use a zip tie to secure the tubing. If the adhesive won't hold, remove the standard adhesive and use 3M tape.
