Hello.
Today, a situation occurred with our 2009 PT. when the car is shut down, the instrument cluster lights will NOT go out. I don't know what happened, to bring this kind of thing about, but I surely need some help. I've started this car up a number of times, since then, and shut it back down - in hopes that I might have effectuated a change, by doing that. But, no go. Everything else seems normal, save for the fact that the electric door locks now refuse to work when the car is shut off. Neither does the door lock work, on the remote door opener, when the car is off. With the vehicle running, all door openers function just fine. I am hoping that someone, here, might know what's going on (as well as WHY) - and who might have a relatively easy (and quite inexpensive) fix for the situation.

You might have 'other' problems...but for the Dash Lights, try turning that little dial on the headlight side of the MFS all the way forward.

I just got back inside, from trying what you suggested, and realized that I had done that very thing a number of times, before authoring my post. I wish that it had worked, but that wasn't the case. Again, though, I appreciate you.

I followed the information that you'd provided, as best I could, but was not able to pull out the two fuses that your photo had directed to be done. I did push down, hard, on them, though - so as to make sure that they were securely seated. That, however, brought about no change. Naturally, with that situation remaining as it was, the battery was flat dead, upon the morning's arrival. Yesterday, I was able to have the car's battery jumped. I let the PT run for about a good half hour, and shut it down. When I did, I found that those lighted indicators HAD extinguished. I restarted the car and shut it down again. Happily, I found that those lights also shut down. My wife had previously suggested that, maybe, I should've disconnected/reconnected the battery. Her position was that a resetting might correct matters. But I had thought that corrective measures might have warranted a bit beefier effort. So, apparently, things are back to where they should be. But, it sure would have been nice to know what caused that situation to happen, in the first place. If it surfaces again, my first move will be to disconnect/reconnect the battery. I thank you for your efforts at helping me.

Remember your car is run by computer. Reset is always a good idea when strange things happen. Doesn't hurt the car doesn't cost any money AND always a small chance it may work.
I had a problem my lights stayed on, brake light stayed on, and wipers turned out to be corrosion in one of the connectors under the dash. Mike |
