Default Photobucket killed all my pics

As I said in my post in my "heart trouble" thread yesterday, I've been having major problems with Photobucket lately. I'm not the only one, there are many many, many people having similar problems with them. Well now all my pics are gone from all my posted sites, not just on this site. They are still intact on Photobuckets site just not anywhere else. That means that I'll be spending the next few days re-posting everything in my Vendors threads and in my Members projects thread here on "The Links".

It's not like I didn't have anything else to do.

Jerry

I have 8 PB accounts all the way back to 2007 and they are all intact. I suggest that you use a recover program. Years ago PB had troubles ratified but now in most cases it is user error.

I haven't lost any of my pictures (100's of them) but I have noticed that everything I do on the PB site is really slow. They keep sending me emails to upgrade my account (which cost money) and I haven't done that but one of the things in upgrading is that it speeds things up. Gets me to thinking that they almost intentionally slowed things down so I would upgrade.

One business account is paid subscription to PB. What a difference, VERY VERY FAST, NO ads, lots of space and editing features.

Then I go to my most used account on PB and time s....l....o....w.....s....down. ha!

Even logging in is an effort.

i would make sure that the account wasn't accidentally switched to being listed as private. all image links broken at once but the images still in your account sounds a bit off.

All my albums are PRIVATE and I'll tell you why.

On this forum I checked "notify me when a new reply was posted to a thread I'm subscribed to." Every time someone posts on a thread, they are automatically subscribed to that thread. You can be notified when someone replies or you don't have to, it's up to you.

When I am notified, and someone replied with a picture from Photobucket, it shows up on the notification email as a link to the picture. I can right click on that picture where it says "search Google for image" and it will take me to the Photobucket album where the photo comes from. If it's PRIVATE that's all there is. If OPEN to the Public, I can browse that persons albums at my leisure.

I've notified a few people to make their albums PRIVATE because I'm not sure who else can do the same as me. I've never tried (an will never) to mess with anyone's pictures but I have seen other pictures that weren't being put on the forum.

you are correct on all this. I think you can edit the pictures but when you save it will save it to your bucket. I have copied pictures from these before. Nothing personal. Once I got the complete 2.4 turbo engine that they pulled out as a unit. And had taken picks from every angle. Wiring and hoses still connected. Made a go reference library. I haven't been using my bucket because of no computer. Hard to do on this phone. So I can't help on problems at this point.
