Default Oil Leaking from Center Of Flexplate?

Okay so recently if you've seen any of my other threads you know I'm pulling my broken transmission to replace. I got the transmission out after a bit of work and I looked at the flexplate.

Now look at the below image, is it just me or is oil coming from the middle of the flexplate? Am I loosing my mind? Would this be a bearing?

I've fixed the image link as it had seemed to be broken.

Okay,

This is 2003 PT Limited with auto transmission, right?

Here's some photos of what the crank seal and end of the crank look like. These photos are from a turbo, but yours should be very similar.

There doesn't appear to be any way for oil to leak from the pilot hole in the rear of the crankshaft. If me, and if this worried me, I'd likely remove the flex plate for a better look. I'd go ahead and replace the rear crank seal too if shows signs of leaking. Might do it anyway since I was already there.

It should be noted that I am a Safety Engineer among other things and I haven't worked as a professional mechanic since I was young strapping lad with long sexy flowing hair before college. And even then, I mainly worked on big trucks and heavy equipment. Nowadays, I enjoy working on these funny looking little cars for fun and relaxation.

Take it apart. At that point you should be changing the rear main seal anyhow.

I greased that on mine for ease of reassembly. Maybe
Someone used oil on yours
