Default New Here

Hi. Just bought a 2005 PT Cruiser Touring 5 sp. in Cool Vanilla with just 39,000 on the clock from an elderly neighbor. Got it for $2,600 and think it was a great deal!

It needed an immediate change of tranny bushing ($15.00) as it was barely driveable, needs major exterior detailing (park under trees for years) which will have to wait for the weather to warm up, front brakes make a noise when turning so have to look at the pads, etc., to be expected because it sat for so long.

I've always liked these cars and am favorably impressed so far. As a past owner of two Chrysler vans with the 2.5L 4 cylinder engines, both of which I loved, I bought this as a spare vehicle!

I love this car so far!

For your brakes making noises while turning, that may be a simple fix of the balancing clip or some sort of clip that is in the brake system on the calipers I believe.

Glad to hear you got a good deal on that PT. Don't find too many anywhere with that low of mileage for that price. Good find. One thing I would do, is seeing as it sat for so long, is check all the intakes/air filter area to make sure no unnecessary "guests" invaded the cars system. Had that happen before but not with a PT. I would also buy a Fuel Injector Cleaner to clean up anything that may have sat in the engine as well. Others may have a different opinion, but that is what I would do.
