It all started out like this, handed down to me from my grandmother before she flew to the Czech Republic.
IMG_2349.jpg After 3 years of not being able to drive it and finally getting my hands on a license, being an irresponsible teenager, after a year of hard driving I blew the motor. IMG_2312.jpg Now, I've learned that spending money on things you broke that you were given isn't so fun. So I decided to make the best out of my situation and do a full blown Turbo swap. Now of course, now being almost 19 and learning more and more that life isn't a walk in the park, after almost a year of the car sitting yet again, she looks like she may be making a return. IMG_2672.jpg IMG_2653.jpg This is a 2001 PT Cruiser limited edition. As almost everyone in this forum knows, it is extremely hard to swap this year of the PT cruiser. My main drive for this project was to prove that it could be done and for not all that much money. So far I'm on my way to getting the 2.4 turbo engine, obviously not in the best shape after 140,000 miles, but I'd have to make due of what I could find for $450 bucks. The next step in my epic journey is finding a transmission. To be continued. |

This is going to be a great project. And you will be way ahead of most older folks when you get it done.
![]() Here's a secret. The older we get, the more we learn about our limits. That's why old guys think they are "wise" when they spend their time telling folks what they cannot do. And that's why most major discoveries and accomplishments have always been made by young people. It's also why young folks usually build the coolest cars too. I can't wait to see your turbocharged 2001 PT. You will be able to put us old guys to shame. And even if you don't complete this project, what you learn will take you far on the next one. ![]()

Hah well long story short, the car is so low because it is off the frame. The wheels are there right now just for looks. But no worries I have huge plans to go low. Believe it or not this is my first and only car. I just have extreme dedication haha. I do have a replacement turbo engine and I expect to build it to at least 300 horsepower. The interior is completely stripped and there is only one seat inside but my end goal is to have 4 racing seats for joyrides and for my friends to experience it. It's quite an insane build just because hehe. But I do have plans for this car to be my daily driver. I love the PT cruisers style and I'm thankful I have it. I always wanted a good looking fast car so I decided why not make a PT cruiser sleeper. I also wanted to have a car with a soundtrack I'd never get tired of hence the turbo engine. They sound glorious straight piped and are great engines. But anyway, I just wanted to show everyone my PT Cruiser to at least give a reason why I've posted so many questions

Dude you sound like your going a similar route as me. If you want to up the Boost, Get forged piston, the stock pistons are cast and the main weak point. The only reason they didn't forge them from the factory is because the oil squirters cool the piston.
