Default Shorty Antenna

Anyone had reception issues with the short black flexible antennas? I had a rental car a few weeks ago while the PT was in for body work. I noticed the reception on the Jeep (rental), was much better than that of my car. The PT has a 2 year old flip out Pioneer dvd/cd player. So I'm hoping its pulling in a good signal.

And no, I don't watch dvds in the car. I just like really l having a big touch screen and the ability to mirror my gps app from my phone to my radio :-P

Technically:
Long antennas are for AM radio reception, and shorter antennas are better for FM radio reception. Modern cars are able to get away with a short visible antenna for FM reception and use lines in the grid of the rear defroster for the AM reception.

Either way, I'd like to know as well if anyone has had any issues with the shorty antennas as i'd like to get one.

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.

And here's my YouTube video on the subject from a couple of years ago.

I think in Oswego the only thing you'll pick up would be 95.9 and a few Spanish stations broadcast out of aurora. I had one on my Lincoln. Worked ok in forest park, but drifted In and out anywhere west of oakbrook. It would not pick up 98.3 anywhere
