front valance on 2005 PT vert

Not being familiar with Verts I don't know if the front valance has been torn off a used 2005 PT Vert my friend is looking at or if it never had one. The dealer will install one if I can confirm there was one there. As it's 100 miles away, I haven't seen under it but I'm guessing there should be six appropriate holes to mount the valance.
Please advise soonest.

I got a full three way confirmation from my brother and both sons who all drive PT Verts. It does have a front valance. We'll see what the dealer does! Thanks.

No separate valance on my '05 Vert. There is a lip that comes down about an inch and a half, but it's part of the bumper cover. I have the bumper cover off and can take a pic tonight if that's helpful...

Thanks, this 2005 my friend is considering probably just has "the lip" too! That's the word we got from the dealer after he checked with Chrysler referencing the vin number this morning. Apparently, depending on which month in 2005 the Vert was produced, they either had or didn't have a front valance. Not a game changer. Either way, a "lip" or valance does the same thing. The valance on SOOO BIG is a black plastic bolt on and measures about an inch and a half. The "lip" may have been a feature on the 2006 on up and the change might have been incorporated into the production half way through 2005. That's my story and without fact or foundation, I'll stick with it.

That makes perfect sense. When I first saw this question, I surveyed photos of new 2005 PT Verts on the internet. On several, it was clear that they had no valance. But I didn't post because I knew several members here have 2005 Verts and would likely chime with first hand info. Now that we know the cars came both ways, it all fits.

I believe what ptprice may be referring to is the front air dam deflector, you can see it on this 'vert, the strip at the very bottom of the bumper cover, it sticks down at a 90 degree angle, from the bumper cover, it's also used on the Gen2.

Handy. I see that now famous "lip". That red Vert photo is exactly what the red one my friend Jonathan is looking at, looks like. Down to wheels, grill and color. Must have been a package that year. Lots of bells and whistles. He figures it'll be a chick magnet. At his age he'd need an industrial sized electro-magnet!

Yep,

I suspect that the 2005 PT Vert's with the "turbo bumper" didn't get the air dam, valance, or whatever we're calling it today. But I haven't looked at enough examples to really know for sure.

But on the chick magnet angle, my wife likes riding around in mine a lot. And since she's the only "chick" I need to attract, it works like a charm.
