Default Wingin' it

I have a wing/spoiler on my Cruiser now,

and I have the option to get one of these from a local yard.

Thoughts?

For me personally, I like the one you have now. It's subtle and looks less like an "add on"... Just my .02...

I like the one you've got now, it's something a little different than what one normally sees. And it's color matched so it looks good.

I've always considered adding a GT spoiler to my PT, but I've since learned that the low profile spoiler that is already there, has a locating hole in the center of the hatch. So once removed, the hole would be exposed, and I would have to get some kind of a plug to fill it, and I don't want that.

Then on the other hand, I've had wings on other cars I've owned, then I always think back how they were somewhat of a pain to clean around and wax around them.

I'd stick with the one you have now. Don't see too many of those around. And as rckstein posted, you would have to fill in some holes from the correct color one you have on now to install the new wrong color one.

Actually on the one I have now, it's held on with double sided tape.

I thought those ones used at least a centering hole in the middle above the back window, not sure how it is held on at the sides. Still, it isn't what you see all the time on PT's, at least not up here in the NY area. Think I've only seen one or two of them with that type of rear spoiler on them. I like it more than the wing I got for my Cruiser, but I didn't see any at a reasonable cost when you add in the cost for painting.

I prefer the factory unit. I covered mine with 3m Carbon Fiber Vinyl.

The wing on the Cruiser at this time is a Lund.
