Default Speed limit of

Today I discovered that the Pt Cruiser I've recently bought has a module written in German "zur abschaltung der elektronischen geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung". In english this means: "To disable the electronic speed limiter" and it's connected to car's computer.
Yesterday I drove the car with nearly 150 mph. It means that this module works. I'm curious if this module can negatively affect the car. I hope it doesn't do any damage...

As far as I am aware of all PCM are set at 128MPH.
Also nearly 150MPH is probably more like 128MPH..
There ARE other factors why the factory MPH is set standard at 128MPH.
But you most likely at least raised your PT Cruise to factory speed levels.

Vmax Aufhebung PT Cruiser 2.4L GT Turbo Sperre Entrieglung Box | eBay

I would guess it divides the speed your computer, but not speedometer sees. Would possibly explain your odometer thread.

I found another on eBay.. seems like all it does is block or modify the v max in the pcm to allow higher speed? Strange!

Just my guess

Do you mean 150 km/h? That's what your speedometer is displaying in the outer ring (from your other thread). If you actually mean MPH, was the needle all the way to the right?

You should post this info over in the Europe PT Forum, to see if anyone else has this unit on their PT, certainly yours can't be the only one.

The company listed on the unit has a website, you might try contacting them and see what info they can provide you about their module?

I do use chrome (using it now) it did not translate for me but I am sure that is some user malfunction, lack of coffee this morning?

Good response.
Some of use that like to think we know the in's and out's of the PT's PCM know why a PT Cruiser has MPH control without active calibration participation so to say.
