Default NEED HELP

hey everybody my wifes pt cruiser died on her after 2 minutes of idle and now there is no crank no start. The security light is on as well as the check engine and air bag light, everything works the radio lights are fine but no crank. I've checked all the major suspects battery starter relays and fuses are all functioning correctly. I also checked ignition actuator and it seems fine. It will not communicate with a scan tool to read codes if anyone could help me figure this out asap i would appreciate it as this is our primary from of transportation. I'm thinking bad pcm but don't know much about the car and am looking for anything else to check before i waste money on a perfectly good part.

if the scanner is a no-go, try this instead and see if you can get codes or "d0nE" to display

How to retrieve fault codes.

Verify link connector is getting 12 volts.

I would suggest pulling each sensor off that the PCM depends on to see if any of the sensors might be shorting out causing the PCM to shut down.

I would also check the wiring going to the PCM. Pull the plugs off the PCM and check to ensure good contacts.

I would suggest with the ignition off, pull each sensor off one at a time , then try starting the engine and see if the scanner starts to communicate with the PCM.
