Default Dream Cruiser number tag

New guy with first of many questions. I just purchased a Dream
Cruiser 1. Did a little research and discovered that they were numbered in manufacturing order. The tag on my DC1 is gone. First question is were they really numbered in order or just a number pulled out of a box. And is there any way to find the number by vin or something. Thanks for all help.

I read somewhere on this forum in a really old thread that the DC1's were not numbered sequentially. They just set a box of badges on the assembly line, grabbed one as the cars went by and stuck one on. But that was an internet story that may or may not be true.

If I wanted to know, I'd take my VIN and call the parts department at a local Chrysler dealership just in case the story above is not true. If there is a way to know, it may come up when the parts guy does a VIN lookup for the badge. But chances are, all he or she will find is a discontinued part number for DC1 dash badge with no reference to the actual number on it.

If you know any of the previous owners, you can ask them if they know what the number was. And the reason is that it is possible to get a reasonable copy of the badge made by one of these custom badge shops online. The Dream Cruiser badges are similar to several others used by Mopar and I've seen some good aftermarket replacements for Chargers.

Another option is to just search eBay until one comes up. As an example, I had a salvage DC1 dash badge in my 2001 Limited. I got it off eBay. While the number won't be original, the badge itself will be.

Use this website to get the Build Sheet for your PT, it will tell you exactly how your PT was built and may include the number that was assigned to it:

Dodge - Contact Us

In the left-hand box, under Your Vehicle, click on Equipment Listing, then in the Equipment Listing box in the middle of the screen, enter the VIN of your PT then click on the red Search box.

The answer is ...... they were just pulled random. This per factory engineer's statement. You may ask a guy named Jerry who used to make these numbers up. I can't rember his forum name.

Hi!

I've got one of my custom reproductions of the original dream 1's and dream 2's that will fix you up nicely.

The Dream 1 badge is "SERIES 1 No 0044". It is built identically as the originals. It is 3D domed just like the OEM badge.

I can't find my old pics of it (them) because of PHOTOBUCKET screwing up all of my over 4000 pics.

I'll take more pics of ALL my custom badges (STAGE 1's, SRT-4's, etc., etc.) and post them in my VENDORS thread this evening.

I'll also put up the individual one that will work for you as a reply in this thread this evening.

Hope this will help you out.

Jerry

Well, speak of the devil. Can you still do other numbers? Or just the numbers in stock?

I can do other numbers, BUT because of the change of command at my longtime supplier, it can take quite some time to get my "SMALL" orders completed from them. For some time now, the new owners have told the workers to concentrate on the largest orders to the exclusion of all others. They always get to my orders eventually.

Look what I found at the salvage yard this afternoon!

It's the dash badge for Series 1 Dream Cruiser #2915. If the OP wants it, it's his for what it cost me plus shipping.

Was the rest of the Dream Cruiser there, too? Does it look like it was new to the lot or been there a while and picked over? The OP might need something else.
