Default This is going to be fun, ugh.

Decided to look into getting the clunky lumpy noises fixed on the suspension. Right away I'm running into a bit of a snag. They have bushings for I think 4 or 5 different sizes of sway bar bushings. Mine are visibly oval inside and need to be replaced along with the links and lower control arm bushings. What size am I supposed to have for the run of the mill "Limited" 02? TIA.

I had the same problem. On my 01 limited, the moog k80364 was the proper fitting one.

For the sway bar end links I used the moog problem solver. Great design, easy to install. Quieted my clunky sway bar.

Awesome guys, thanks. Any idea on the size of the rear one. It's visibly smaller than the front of course.

For the rear, I could not find the bushings by themselves and ended up with this kit.
Energy Suspension 5.5152G Rear Sway Bar for Cruiser https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ALJ2E0..._Zo0fzbYDB81N4

I had gotten the moog end links prior so I did not use the bushings for those. I used the two larger bushings which fit the sway bar perfectly. I couldn't find moog bushings that fit the rear bar. I emailed moog and they recommended a bushing for it but it did not fit because it had one flat side so it didn't work with the bracket for the rear.

Thanks for all the help. I have all the parts ordered now. Another project to get on to at the end of the month when I get back from Seattle.

I still have my struts and control arms sitting in my house waiting to be installed. Weather this weekend won't cooperate. Pouring rain outside.

Knock on wood mine still are good. Mine underneath looks like someone was trying to fix things one piece at a time. Ball joints and control arms look good. Struts are old, but not leaking, so those will be made to work for a while longer. I need to get this thing up to snuff to be used as a potential daily driver, but gotta watch the spend.

To isolate the sway bar making the clunk, I would just remove it and the end links then take your PT for a spin to see if the nose disappears. If when removed the noise is still there, it was not your sway bar.

And yes it is safe to drive with the sway bar removed.

I jacked up the car and unloaded the suspension, then checked for looseness. The end links, you can clearly see where the metal ends have pulled away from the badly deteriorated rubber. The bushings for both front and rear are visibly oval where they go around the bar. 152k miles on the old beast, and these parts look original.
