Default 2004 Dream Cruiser

A lady friend is in the process of buying a 2004 Dream Cruiser w/32k miles on it for $4500.

Brought the car over for my inspection and I was totally impressed/shocked/jealous.

Looked like a brand new car with all options.

Couldn't believe all the details it had.

Hope it works out.

Oh, those Series 3 Dreams are pretty. Love that blue glass!
I have Dream 1 and a Dream 2 but have only seen 2 Dream 3s around here. A damaged one a couple years ago on CL and a fair on drive by on the freeway one day.
Had I found a car like that with low mileage I would be happy to run that mileage up to 300K and call it my last car.
I currently own three PTs but choice time will soon be upon me. I have to return my Ford Model T hot rod Roadster to the street before I leave and would like to have my Ford Model A Tudor sedan be alive as well. I dreamed of leaving each of my kids a car but I think I'll just give one to each, if they want them, now when I get them up and streetable.
I now have five grand kids, soon to six, all under the age of ten. So I may, if I'm lucky see a couple of them through to drivers license time and one of Grandpas cars if they care.

Well my lady friend went ahead and bought the Dream Cruiser.

I'm kinda torn with the thoughts that she got a great low mileage car, but now this real collector vehicle will be sitting outside and being used as a regular car.

That's nice, love the 2-tone paint job

But it will need the timing belt work done, if it hasn't already been done, and it probably hasn't been since it is such low mileage.

By and large the PT Cruiser is not a collector car and only the few low production models will ever be except in PT CruiserWorld where we live now.
Dream Cruisers including the rare 08 Dream Package equipped cars.
GTs.
Street Cruisers.
Convertibles, especially Turbo standard shift cars, but all with drop tops.
Signature and Platinum Editions, all colors especially Turbos.
Turbos and standard shifts in general.
Drive them as far as you can, do the timing belt job, and do it again and again until you just can't stand it any longer.

Not real sure what the Maui Gal with the flowers means, but one interesting item is that the flowers and Maui Gal label are ghost painted on the hood, the pic doesn't show it because it's real hard to see.

Nice!, I just got one back in November. Mechanically its great, the interior great, but the paint is awful. Can't wait to get it painted.

It might be as simple is that a previous owner was a girl from Hawaii

I think this is the same car when the original owner was showing it back in 2005.

I know my sensibilities are different than most, but I think most any Low Mileage PT is now a collectible car.

Heh, heh, way back in 1967 when I bought my Dodge Charger it would have been considered a 'daily driver' to most, but to me it's always been a collectible car.

Well my lady friend has put 10k miles on her Dream Cruiser 3 and started having problems with the car stalling and reduced power after sharp turns with the CEL coming on.

She finally decided it was time for an oil change and took it in to a local dealer and asked them to check out the CEL.

Dealer checked things out and said it was a crank sensor that needed replaced $300.

She called me and asked if that was a possible and I said far as I know it sounded possible.

Then she called another somewhat more knowledgeable friend who remembered a similar issue with another lady friend with a similar symptoms and come to find out it was just low oil level which had the oil swaying to one side in a turn and starving the oil pickup and caused a CEL and a stalling and reduce power due to car going into failure mode.

So the lady went with just the oil change and she says never had the problem again so far.

Think i was more concerned with the idea she let the oil level get so low that it would cause a problem. Especially after I installed hood struts on the car so it would be easier on her to check the oil level.
