Default 08 Pt Cruiser_Passenger front door does not open from inside

Hi folk, I do need your help, I've a 08' PT Cruiser. Passenger front door cannot be opened from inside. When I pull the latch some times the door opens but mostly not. In my opinion it seems to be an electrical problem, cause from outside door always open. I would like to take door cover out and check wires and connectors.

Please, I really appreciate any suggestion before doing sthg.

Many Thanks!!!!
Lucas.

Welcome to the forum

It's a mechanical connection between the inside latch handle and the latch mechanism, not electrical.

In the pic below, this tech has his hand on the latch rod that attaches to the inside door handle:

There is a little clip on the inside of the latch handle that holds the rod, these clips may break.

You'll have to pull off the door panel to see what's going on.

This video will show you how to remove the door panel, he doesn't do a good job of showing the inside of the door panel, but once you remove the panel, you'll see the clip on the rod, just flip it down to unlock it off the rod and you will have to unclip the wire connector for the lock switch, really easy:

Hi rckstein, many thanks for your help!
I've solved this problem. I've just pulled door panel off like the video explanation and following your instructions. I found no broken parts, it was pretty simple, rod lost its form by the use. So, I adjusted its form a little bit until the latch handle worked properly again.

Best Regards, Lucas.

Glad to hear you got it fixed, and it didn't cost you anything, except a little bit of time
