Default Rain X Removal

Just wondering if anyone has removed rain x before. When I bought my Cruiser the dealer or someone put the stuff on my windshield. I have called the 800# to see what they say to do to remove it. Used the Soft Scrub like Rain X company said to do and the stuff is still there. I don't really care for the stuff and would like to be able to see out my windshield without the streaks that the Rain x causes when it needs to be reapplied. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Aimee

I don't have the answer to your question but maybe Gary turbomangt does. However, I only use Rain-X on my side windows as it does create issues when used on the front or rear. Good luck.

Have you tried some denatured alcohol. It cleans most everything off.[:I]

I would use distilled water and 2 0z. of denatured alcohol. A tip from turbomangt, my glass never looked so good. Also you might need a white scotch brite pad.

The best way is to replace the windshield and don't put Rain-x back on. I have tried all of the above and wasn't able to get rid of it.[xx(]

That was fun to read, most everyone was right on how to remove it. In time it would wear off anyway. I wonder why some people really love the stuff and others hate it. I think it is a good idea to "seal" the glass however I never had great success with Rain X. I use my chrome sealer on glass, which was introduced originally for glass before they discovered is works as well on chrome.

Will try the denatured alcohol, if that doesn't work I will try the bon ami. I can't afford to just replace the windshield right now since hubby lost his job a month ago. Turbomangt what chrome sealer do you use and can I get that at Autozone or Advance Auto?

Thanks Hopefully I'll have a clean windshield again soon.[8D]
