Default Pt shut off while driving!

Hi all,
Looking for help.My oil light comes on with a *ding*, after the car warms up, I start to slow down or come to a stop the oil light comes on at low engine speeds and then shuts off. It will go off after a few seconds and I can drive again. Once I accelerate, it stops until I begin slowing down for the next stop. Ita not happen very often.I had the oil changed... no leaks, nothing unusual. Oil is fresh and full. No overheating or other symptoms. Its Chrysler Pt Cruiser 2.0 2001 petrol. Milleage 144.000 km. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum from Texas.

Please go to the new member section and start a thread telling us about you and your Cruiser. I'm guessing you are in Europe because of the 2.0 petrol engine.

You didn't mention how many kilometers you Cruiser has. The problem could be a bad oil pressure switch. If it has a lot of kilometers, the oil pressure could be low. It would be a good idea to attach a manual gauge to see the actual pressure.

Clean the connector and the surrounding area. Remove and clean the oil pressure sensor and re-install

You and I are pretty much are having the same problem. My PT has been doing it as well. People first suggested cleaning the throttle body. Which I have but no luck. I have a sensor coming in the mail tomorrow and I'll replace it then or I might wait till the weekend.

I did received a code for the oil sensor. No check engine light, but every once in a while when I start it, the oil light comes on. I'll let you know what the results are when I replace it.
