Default Error codes 202, 203, 204

Hi all, been a long time since i've been here, my PT has been one great car, many of road trips it's been on with no problems. The other day I got a check engine light and on the way home from work the PT would stall at low idles and pretty much run awful. Check the error codes and got 202, 203, 204 which are the controls for the fuel injection. So could it be possible that they're all bad or is this a cam or crank sensor issue? Thanks for any help

I called up just one of them....

What Does P0202 Code Mean?

OBD-II Code P0202 is defined as a Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 2

The purpose of the Fuel Injectors on either a gas or diesel engine is to spray vaporized fuel into the combustion chambers. This spray of fuel mixes with incoming air and is ignited to provide power in each of the engines cylinders by providing downward force on the pistons.

Code P0202 sets when the Power Train Control Module or PCM sees an open or short in the #2 cylinder injector circuit.

P0202 Symptoms

Check Engine Light will illuminate
Failure of Emissions Inspections due to MIL malfunction
Failure of Emissions Inspections due to elevated emissions
Vehicle may run rough and misfire
Poor Fuel Economy
In rare cases, there are no adverse conditions noticed by the driver
Common Problems That Trigger the P0202 Code

Malfunction of the Fuel Injector
Malfunction of the PCM Fuel Injector driver circuit
Defective wiring/connections in the Fuel Injector wiring harness
Defective Fuel Injector power circuit(s)

Thanks, each error is for the fuel injector controllers, each one has its own error code. I find it hard to believe they can all go bad at once which makes me think, cam or crank sensor??? Good to see you're still here, haven't been on in a long time.

So after reading more about I'm thinking ECM, found this video, looks pretty easy to change and you can get them programmed for 199 on ebay. Anybody ever use them?

This is a vidow by people who cant even change their own oil and they did it.

While reading, some of the answers also talked about 12 volts being supplied to the injectors from the ASD relay. That's the square box labeled "E" in the relay section of the PDC in the engine compartment (if you have an 01-05 PT). All the relays are the same so you can swap out the ASD relay for the HORN relay (A) and see if that helps.

So I switched the fuel one with the horn and the car seems to idle, but my horn works also. So I'm going to idle it for a long time, maybe bad connection on the leg of the relay?? I'll give it a hour, hopefully I can still cancel my order on amazon for the computer if it keeps going. Thank you, much appreciated what you do on the forum.

I would suggest checking your fuel pressure first. Make sure you are getting 58 +/-5 PSI.

If fuel pressure is good check the voltage going to the fuel injectors.

relays tend to fail when warm/hot/cold/etc.

you cannot test a relay to verify that is good.
you can test a relay to verify that it is bad.
a bad relay may test as good.
a good relay will test as good.

if in doubt, the only answer is to replace it. i dont tell people to buy stuff, ever. ..but relays are cheap and can be a real PITA
