Default Failed AC recharge

So I tried to recharge the AC on my daughter's '02 and had no success. First off, the lower port had no cap. When I started squeezing the trigger it flashed to red, then settled back. It took very little time for the gauge to read filled, unfortunately the air is still blowing hot. Any thoughts?

Is your hi speed working on your fan? Did you try jumping the low pressure switch? Check any relays or fuses?

I did replace the fuses, the fan was working. I did not check relays - I'll look into that. Thank you.

Is the A/C still hot at highway speeds?

So it is better at higher speeds, but not actually cold.

So I would say it is cooler, but certainly not cold. We didn't have a chance to hit high way speed, but did run 50 for a bit.

How can a man determine if his high speed radiator fan is working ?
Here , we may need a schematic .. Haynes ?
The high speed ''air rush'' MAY partially make up for a no-go high speed fan .. or , it may not .. depending .

Start the car and with it idling, turn on the a/c. The low speed fan should come on pretty quickly. Let it sit and idle for a few minutes. If it's working properly, as the engine temp comes up, the high speed fan will turn on. You'll notice the difference by the sound of it. It revs much higher than the low speed fan.

well if there is air in the system it will only take a small amount of Freon you really need to suck the system down and see if it holds then recharge from there but you would need a set of gauges and a vacuum pump to do that
