Just been looking into this myself and you don't need to blank it apparently - you just pull the plug from the EGR valve and stick a resistor across the plug and it kids the electronics that the EGR is operating and you don't get any lights come up. The valve stays normally closed and doesn't need a blanking plate. If you google it (ie "resistor EGR valve Mercedes") you might get lucky and find some links.

If not, I have my resistors on order from eBay so I'll let you know how it goes

There is a full on gizmo that you can make up using resistors and a diode that gets around the MAF needing to see a signal from the EGR, but I *think* that only applies to the later 150PS engine (like mine, '07) - and your '04 is the 121PS lump, and you can get away with just the resistor on the EGR lead

No worries...

If you struggle to find info on the engine, it's the same lump as in the Vito 115 van (and a couple of Merc cars, but I forget which... CDI 220 maybe...? )

Here's the thread that I found on a Chrysler forum by trawling through bloody Merc forums

EGR Delete on crd. - Page 2 - Chrysler 300C Forum: 300C & SRT8 Forums

Check out the posts from the geezer Bora Al and he seems to have it down - there's some pics of what he did as well.

Weather permitting, I'll have a stab at it tomorrow
