For record, here are the January 2021 insurance rates for my PT Cruiser. I have my daughter listed as primary driver on the PT. It would likely be about a $100 cheaper every 6 months if she wasn't on it. But I have to take a hit on at least one car in order to cover her on all my cars. And the PT is the cheapest to do this on. This is liability insurance plus a few extra. The cost has risen about $10 since last term. Looks like everything is getting more expensive due to COVID.

I would suggest thinking about increasing the amount of liability and property damages. With the value of cars going up and the cost of medical surgeries increasing it's a peace of mind not to worry if something happens.

Due to people not driving as much our car insurance with AAA club has given us two partial refunds over a period of 12 months as we are also not driving very often.

We basically only use the vehicles for curbside food pickup, gas, and cash at bank atm for now.

I've had two PTs for years insured with The Hartford. In August of this past year my '05 was totaled after hitting a deer at 65 mph. Because of its age, I had deleted the collision coverage. However, I did keep my zero dollar deductible comprehensive coverage. The deer sccident fell under comprehensive. Not only did I not have to pay a dime extra for a deductible, but they sent me a check for $3800. Say what? I was thinking maybe $1000 to $2000 somewhere. True, I kept that PT in great shape and it looked it, but still - $3800? I'm staying with The Hartford.

Handy,

I am just getting into the conversation now.
The rates you posted...IS THAT JUST FOR ONE MONTH????

I agree with Steve.
More liability and property damage.
THIS IS A VERY LITIGIOUS SOCIETY!
Too many lawyers with steady work;(I will stop at that!)

I'm Retired Military, so I've been with USAA for almost 50 years, and pay $675 every 6 months.
And, my bodily injury is $500,000.

The rates I posted are for every six months. I only pay twice a year. I tried USAA, but they were considerable higher for me. Here's what I pay for our 2019 Charger Scat Pack with full coverage. This is my most expensive policy and these rates are for six months.

Pretty good insurance rates for a 26 year old person! Can you tell me when the rates for your daughter went down?
