How much clutch fluid?

Default How much clutch fluid?

Hi,

Does anyone know how much fluid is in the hydraulic clutch system.

"not much" maybe .75 pint?..all the shop computer says under fluid specs is "dot 3 brake fluid.

Nobody knows what that part is in your other thread because it not something they sell. It's just something on the slave line. I'd guess you could live without it. I don't think later year PT's have it.

Clutch hydraulic questions here seldom get correct answers. Nobody here could tell me how to correctly bleed mine. I got advice but found mine had no bleeder. Looking it up there are so many different versions of the hydraulic junk it made me wish it was a cable clutch.

This is one area that lacks knowledge on here.

For my PT all I could do was order a master/slave pre-bled kit for $200 so I lived with the leaky junk

I've googled around and found that the part in the slave line should be a "damper" (other car brands have a similar part) Without it would make the clutch better (stiffer) say many,I give it a try.
