Default Multifunction switch brand advise

I am in need of a new multifunction switch because of the fogs lights always on issue. Checked online for a replacement, and find that there are different brands. Is there a preferred one?

My local Chrysler/Mopar dealer quoted me $154.
I've found Airtex/Wells (Rockauto), BWD (O'Reilly), MMileage Plus Electrical (NAPA), Duralast (Autozone), Dorman (eBay), all around $60.

Any advice?

Thanks!

I tried Airtex/Wells, it went bad in a few months. Tried BWD, it went bad in a few weeks, replaced the BWD under warranty & it's been over a year without any problems.

I was able to get a MOPAR off Amazon. Can't remember what I paid but it was less than your dealer quoted.

Thanks for all the input.

I did find a MOPAR on Amazon for $99.95 + $9.95 shipping. However, I find the less expensive ones interesting from a cost point of view.

Still looking . . .

I've got a Rockauto one for the last year and half. So far no problem, but don't use the foglights much.

I bought my replacement multifunction switch at Advance Autoparts. By purchasing it online and using a 30% discount code, I got it for about $42 with tax. And since my local Advance store stocks this part, I was able to just down and pick it up without waiting for shipping. This multifunction switch is BWD/Carquest Part Number S14401 for my 2005 PT Cruiser GT. This should fit all 1st Gen PT Cruisers with factory fog lights from 2001 thru 2005.

Thanks for the handy advice. I'll check that out and look for discount codes too!

You can also try moparpartsoverstock.com if you are looking for new mopar part at a reasonable price. Be aware of the flat rate shipping (around $15), but they are usually way cheaper than my local dealer and a bit cheaper than amazon (even after shipping).

Thanks to all for the advice! I ended up going with a BWD from Advance Autoparts mostly because of the 30% off discount and free shipping. Cost before tax was $43.39. It's hard to resist saving some money.

Can't wait till it arrives and I can try it out. As a non-mechanically inclined person, I'm hoping that with all the good instructions here and on YouTube, I will be able to get 'er done.
